A multicore cable is any electrical cable that has more cores than normal; for example, if a standard design included a single core, any design with more than 1 core could be considered multicore.
Multicore cables are designed to be flexible and robust. Common applications include high density wiring, audio visual cables, and instruments and electronic equipment.
Multicore cables can also be used to combine multiple functionalities into a single cable, such as data, power and control.
